SHORT BUT SWEET: A grandmother was telling her little granddaughter what her own childhood was like. “We used to skate outside on a pond. I had a swing made from a tyre; it hung from a tree in our front yard. We rode our pony. We picked wild raspberries in the woods.” The little girl was wide-eyed, taking this in. At last she said, “I sure wish I’d gotten to know you sooner!”

SOME THOUGHTS FOR THE WEEK: “When nothing seems to help, I go look at a stonecutter hammering away at his rock perhaps a hundred times without a crack showing in it. Yet at the hundred and first blow it will split in two, and I know it was not that blow that did it, but all that had gone before.” Jacob Riis

“The beginning is the most important part of the work.” Plato

“Always follow the path of truth. Lying will only get you lost.”  Chris Butler

“How wonderful it is that nobody need wait a single moment before beginning to improve  the world.”   Anne Frank

“A good father is one of the most unsung, unpraised, unnoticed, and yet one of the most valuable assets in our society.” Billy Graham

“The mind is the limit. As long as the mind can envision the fact that you can do something, you can do it, as long as you really believe 100%.” Arnold Schwarzenegger

“Weekends are a bit like rainbows; they look good from a distance but disappear when you get up close to them.” John Shirley

ONE SENTENCE SERMON: When you have more than you need, build a longer table not a higher fence.
