AUTUMN COUNTRY STATIONS MASSES: Friday 27th November @ 8pm: Clonfert, Curraduff, Castlemcauliffe & Lisdangan East at the home of Sheila O’Sullivan.

THE ADVENT PRAYER TREE: This Advent & Christmas, the community wish to remember in their prayers those who will not be able to make it home for Christmas. A tree will be placed in the Church next week where people can write the name of those they would like to be remembered on the cards provided.

PRO LIFE CAMPAIGN: Will hold a public information meeting on Tuesday 24th November at 7.30pm in the Metropole Hotel, Cork. All welcome.

THE THREE TENORS: Will perform at the Holy Cross Church, Charleville on Saturday 5th December at 7.45pm. Tickets €25 are available from The Forge and St. Joseph’s foundation.

LADIES FOOTBALL CLUB: Will hold ‘A Taste of Christmas’ fundraising cookery demonstration on Friday 4th December in the Hi-land with chef Frank Moynihan. Tickets €10 each are available from Twomey’s Butchers and Hannons shop.

ANNUAL CHRISTMAS OUTING: Takes place on Sunday November 29th to Griffins Garden Centre, Dripsey, Blarney Woollen Mills, Blackpool Shopping Centre and dinner later at the Hibernian Hotel in Mallow. Cost €35. Bus will leave Meelin at 9.15am, Newmarket at 9.30am and Kanturk at 9.45am. Contact Mary on 60444 or Bridie on 60425.

CONCERT & CHRISTMAS MARKET: Will take place in Boherbue on Sunday 22nd November commencing at 11am with Dordan, a male choral choir, in the Church. This will be followed by an afternoon of Christmas treats on offer in the local hall. All welcome.

NEWMARKET JUVENILE GAA: Will hold their annual AGM on Sunday 22nd November at 8pm in Clubhouse. It is important that one parent/guardian from each family attend

NEWMARKET GAA ADULT AGM: Will be held on Saturday 28th November at 8.15pm. All members urged to attend. New members welcome.

OPEN AND ENROLMENT EVENING: For First Year pupils will take place in Boherbue Comprehensive School on Tuesday night 1st December from 7.30 to 9.30 p.m.

CORK SIMON COMMUNITY: Would like to thank the people of Newmarket & Taur for your generosity at their recent Church Gate Collection. Cork Simon works with men & women who are homeless in Cork where they offer housing and support.

SHORT BUT SWEET: A priest who had spent a fruitless day fishing picked out three fat fish in the market. “Before you wrap them,” he said to the store manager,” toss them to me, one by one. That way I’ll be able to tell the monsignor I caught them and  I’ll be speaking the truth.”
